A Sweep Is Only As Good As...

Your ability to not get collapsed. The Jiu Jitsu technical stand up is one of the most important moves of BJJ along with the bridge, hip escape, and shoulder slide. I notice a lot of times I will sweep but get tipped back over because I am not ready to brace myself by getting on top. I sweep them but am lazy to get on top. Getting your feet in good position to anticipate scrambles or sweeps are huge. Not only for the sweep but to hold the position once you get there.

Posture control is always important in everything and remember posture starts always at the top of the head.
